Muangthong United Football Club (Thai: สโมสรฟุตบอลเมืองทอง ยูไนเต็ด) is a Thai football club based in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province and owned by Siam Sport Syndicate and other private investors .
The club was founded in 1989, and is thus also a relatively young club. Into the minds of football fans in Thailand also joined the club until 2007. The club's first success was its first place finish in the 2007 Season of the Thailand Division 2 League. This achievement saw them promoted to the Thai Division 1 League.
From Opening Day, it's got the club on a promotion place, and this was also not until end of season ago. As a sovereign master of the second division it moved up to the TPL. Even before the start of the season, the club undertook many new and notable players of Thailand. Despite a successful season starts they pledged in April 2009 with Attaphol Buspakom a new coach. Muangthong United currently play their home matches at the Yamaha Stadium (Thailand), located in Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi Province. The stadium currently has a capacity of 15000 spectators. The stadium,unlike most stadiums in Thailand does not have a running track. In addition, there are expansion plans for the stadium increasing the capacity to over 25,000 and to include VIP/Corporate areas.
